SATURDAY MORNING COMICS: SEPTEMBER 30, 2017

Saturday mornings are for cartoons and comics, or at least they were around our house as kids. In that tradition, each Saturday morning we highlight two or more comics that we're reading to kick off the weekend. Every comic we highlight in this space is available right here on VillainPaper, any time on any device! BOY COMICS #11

Boy Comics had a remarkable 119-issue run, but stories featuring the villain Iron Jaw are some of our favorites!  In Issue #11, Iron Jaw falls in love, flying ace Swoop Storm embarks upon the most astonishing adventure of his career, kid hero Little Dynamite swings into violent action as poisoned foodstuffs threaten the lifeline of America's military camps, and much more!

OUR FLAG COMICS #2

Wouldn't you rather read about the daring adventures of superhero The Flag rather than endlessly debate the NFL and the national anthem?  The Flag makes his first appearance in issue #2, and the script in his first panel says it all: "Watch these enemies who seek to destroy our fair nationrun like the rats they are when they come up against The Flag - Son of 'Old Glory!'"  In addition to this awesome cover art by Jim Mooney, we get two stories featuring the Flag, a story featuring hero The Unknown Soldier hero (later trademarked by DC Comics), the true tale of Major Al Williams, "hero of the air," and "The Three Cheers" - three servicemen who are forced to clear their names after being framed by Nazi agents!
