For a post-WWII title, "Crime Must Pay the Penalty" from Ace Magazines had a pretty stellar run of 46 issues. Although known primarily for its romance titles, Ace found itself in Congressional crosshairs for "corruptive" titles like "Crime." Each issue illustrated a series of "true" crime stories, with some artistic embellishments.
